GlitterBeam Radio GlitterBeam Radio
Hey! My name is Martha and Im a broadcast radio journalist at GlitterBeam. As an active supporter, I came across the station on a friends recommendation and just had to tune in. I enjoy talking to people and presenting the hottest news headlines. Some activities Im involved in are writing and recording bulletins for broadcasting, helping to put together reportages and special broadcasts especially for you. I fully share in and love the channels focus on accessibility, diversity and inclusion, values which are so important in todays society.
I look forward to collaborating and develop my skills as your news anchor, editing and presenting on-air, and love the fact that I get to explore so many scintillating topics.
A bit about my background. I worked at Humanitarian Operations, an international charity providing services to disadvantaged social groups. This was when I first caught the bug for presenting, since I had to record videos promoting their apps and also got the chance to do some sound editing. I have experience as a data analyst and researcher, covering in-depth topics for various clients. Ive done voluntary work at an arts organisation, NW Live Arts, which focuses on bringing live music to communities in and around the UK. Helping out as board member and trustee.
My full-time job is in financial services working in the City. In terms of education I have a BA Honours degree in History which provided an excellent basis to kickstart a career in broadcast journalism. I have a Masters degree in Regulation which helped greatly in terms of building a strong awareness of industry regulations and how they impact various sectors. Thanks very much for listening and I look forward to speaking to you via a weekend news bulletin and extended newshour! Bye for now xxx😊
