today17th October 2024

Background

On Monday 21 October from 4pm in the Postgraduate Centre on the Luton campus , the LGBTQ+ Network will be hosting the event which invites attendees to connect with like-minded individuals and hear from inspiring speakers from across a number of universities and organisations.

The event will feature guest speakers from organisations including Stonewall, Anglia Ruskin University, and Brunel University, plus feedback on the University of Bedfordshire’s 2024 Workplace Equality submission.

Speakers and guests will discuss best practice within staff diversity networks and the best ways to build allies within institutions.

Speaking about this event, David Williams, Chair University Staff LGBTQ+ Network, said: ‘Staff networks and allies play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive, supportive and diverse workplace for all organisations. We invite everyone to join our event to celebrate best practices and discuss how to drive employee engagement. We will be joined by representatives from 13 universities, together with local communities and staff and students from the University of Bedfordshire, for what should be a fascinating session.’

The University’s Staff LGTBQ+ Network is open to any staff member, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, and the allies that support them. Find out more here.
